Qureshi phones Saudi counterpart, discusses grave situation in occupied Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi telephoned his Saudi counterpart Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf to discuss the grave situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Talking to him, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said occupied Jammu and Kashmir is under curfew for the last 25 days and all communication has been blocked in the area, Radio Pakistan reported. He said international media and human rights organizations are pointing towards gross human rights violations in the occupied region. The minister underlined that innocent Kashmiris Muslims have not been allowed to offer Eid and Juma prayers and mosques are locked in the held territory. Derailment of Rehman Baba Express leaves at least 10 passengers injured

TOBA TEK SINGH: At least ten passengers got injured when the engine and four bogies of the Rehman Baba Express derailed in Toba Tek Singh in the wee hours of Friday. According to details, Karachi to Peshawar bound train met an accident near Toka Tek Singh, resulting in injuries to at least 10 passengers. The injured were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) for treatment. According to the sources, the incident took place due to negligence of driver Sagheer Ahmed, who was the driver of freight train actually. Following the incident, rescue teams reached the spot and managed to restore railway traffic after repair of the track. Met office warns of heavy rain in Karachi, issues urban flooding alert

KARACHI: Pakistan Met Office has warned of heavy rainfall in Karachi and issued red alert over likely urban flooding in the city on Friday, ARY News reported. Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast around 50 to 70mm rainfall in the port city along with heavy rainfall in coastal districts of Badin, in eight districts of Sindh. According to the PMD, the prevailing spell of rain in Sindh is very likely to intensify, producing moderate to heavy rains in the province particularly in Karachi, Thatta, Jamshoro, Dadu, Kambar-Shahdadkot, Nausheroferoz, Badin, Sanghar and Larkana districts till Friday evening. Due to likely heavy rainfall, the situation of urban flooding in Karachi may further be aggravated on Friday, with water logging in low lying areas of the city and isolated places in other parts of Sindh, the met office said. Occupied Kashmir: BBC reports shocking stories of torture, violence by Indian troops

International media is finally waking up to narrate the horrors inside occupied Kashmir, as British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) reported on Friday the accounts of innocents Kashmiris being mercilessly tortured by Indian troops.  “Security forces in Indian-administered Kashmir have been accused of carrying out beatings and torture in the wake of the government’s decision to strip the region of its autonomy.” The BBC said several villagers told the publication that they were beaten with sticks and cables and given electric shocks. South Korean FM voices concerns over situation in occupied Kashmir

South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha has voiced concerns over human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir. She expressed the sentiments during her phone conversation with Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi who apprised her about the latest situation in occupied Kashmir, Radio Pakistan reported. The South Korean Foreign Minister said her country is keeping a close eye on developments in the region. She said breach of human rights is a serious issue which needs to be addressed.
