Dr Yasmin Rashid visits field hospital at Lahore Expo Centre

LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid on Tuesday visited corona field hospital built in the Lahore Expo Centre, ARY News reported.

Expressing her views on the occasion, Dr Yasmin Rashid said best medical facilities are being established at the Expo Centre. She directed to set up corona tri-edge centre.

The centre will check the patients and will decide to shift them to quarantine facility or to the hospital, she added.

The minister said fool-proof cleanness arrangements are ensure at the hospital, as this the main source to avoid coronavirus.

Dr Yasmin also urged the masses to strictly follow the precautionary measures in the wake of coronavirus.

Last week, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had approved to establish 900-bed special field hospital at Lahore Expo Center in fight against coronavirus.

The decision was taken in cabinet committee meeting chaired by CM Buzdar.

The chief minister had directed authorities to start purchasing beds and other medical equipment needed to establish a field hospital at the expo center.

Accountability court hears assets case against Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court in Islamabad on Wednesday resumed the hearing of a reference filed against former finance minister Ishaq Dar by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for allegedly accumulating assets beyond his known sources of income. Qatar to hike minimum wage ‘by end of year’

DOHA: Qatar could increase the minimum wage for migrant workers by the end of 2018, unions predicted on Monday, as the 2022 World Cup host seeks to push through labour reforms. It would be the first change to the monthly wage since its introduction by the gas-rich Gulf state last November. “By the end of the year we expect a new minimum wage to be set, that’s good news,” said Sharan Burrow, general secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation. Burrow did not name a figure but said the new wage would be calculated by assessing a “basket of goods”. She was speaking after meeting Qatar’s labour minister, Issa al-Jufali al-Nuaimi, and other government officials in Doha over the past two days.
