Protest in Finland denounces Indian actions in occupied Kashmir

HELSINKI: An anti-India protest demonstration was held in Helinski, the capital of Finland, to condemn the latest New Dehli’s actions in occupied Kashmir.

The protest demonstration was arranged by the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation European Union zone. The protesters carrying Azad Kashmir’s flags, banners and placards were chanting pro-freedom and anti-India slogans, Kashmir Media Service reported.

They also condemned the Indian tribunal’s unilateral and biased decision to uphold the ban on JKLF without any concrete evidence and proper judicial proceedings. The protesters said that the ban was imposed and then upheld by the Indian judiciary on the wishes of the Hindu extremist Indian government led by Narendra Modi.

As per a detailed statement issued by the party, the participants said that the demand for the fundamental rights of the people, especially the right to self-determination and freedom is not against any international law nor is it illegal to raise a voice against state terrorism.

The protesters demanded the immediate release of JKLF Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik.

The grim situation remained unchanged in Indian occupied Kashmir on 57th consecutive day, today, due to continued restrictions and communication blackout imposed by Narendra Modi-led communal government.

Normal life continues to remain crippled in the Kashmir valley and Muslim majority areas of Jammu region due to the snapping of mobile and internet services and closure of shops, markets, business establishments and educational institutions as well as the absence of public transport, as per Kashmir Media Service.

Accountability court hears assets case against Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court in Islamabad on Wednesday resumed the hearing of a reference filed against former finance minister Ishaq Dar by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for allegedly accumulating assets beyond his known sources of income. Judge Muhammad Bashir is recording the statement of a prosecution witness, Ishtiaq Ahmed. At the previous hearing, the accountability judge had reserved his verdict on an application filed by two co-accused seeking acquittal in the case. Naeem Mehmood and Mansoor Rizvi, who are directors of Dar’s companies, had filed the application requesting the judge to exonerate them from all charges for want of evidence. SFA raids several restaurants in Karachi, imposes fine

KARACHI: The Sindh Food Authority (SFA) on Friday raided several restaurants in city’s North Nazimabad area over unhygienic conditions, ARY News reported. According to the SFA, one of the restaurants was found utilizing the used oil multiple times. The items were also not properly frozen while crockery for serving the food was also not clean. The team imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the restaurant. The SFA team found hygiene standards were sheerly compromised in food making to the core. The food inspectors said they had previously served notices to the food outlets, but the restaurant owners apparently turned a blind eye to it. Raids were also conducted in district Malir and Gulshan-e-Hadeed. Sanitary conditions and lack of fumigation facilities were found at the restaurants in some of the Malir outlets. Trump says US generals feel Beirut blast was likely an ‘attack’
