Karachi to remain warm and humid,says weather office

KARACHI: Pakistan Meteorological Department predicted a warm and humid weather in Karachi on Monday with chances of isolated rain and thunderstorm, ARY News reported.

Maximum temperature in the city will be between 34-36º Celsius, the met office said, while minimum temperature will be 26 ºC.

Humidity will be between 75-85 % in morning and 65-75 % in the evening today, the met office said.

The wind direction in Karachi will mostly remain Northeasterly or Easterly.

The minimum temperature will further move downward with restoration of sea breeze, according to the weather department.

Heavy rainfall lashed Karachi on the consecutive fifth day on Friday and five people died by electrocution in various areas of Karachi as the city underwent an interesting spell of weather with an interplay between hot and humid weather and rainfall.

The weather department in a forecast earlier said that the monsoon currents likely to prevail till Monday (today).

Average temperatures are likely to drop in most parts of the country from this week, according to a weather prediction.

Police arrest another suspect in Rimsha Wassan murder case

KHAIRPUR: Police on Tuesday arrested another suspect in Rimsha Wassan murder case during a raid in Khairpur, ARY News reported. Police said suspect Hidayatullah was arrested during the raid and weapons were recovered from his possession. India’s coronavirus cases rise by a daily record of 55,078

BENGALURU: India reported another record surge in daily COVID-19 cases on Friday, taking the total to 1.64 million, as the government further eases virus curbs in a bid to resuscitate the economy, while also trying to increase testing. Infections jumped by 55,078 in the past 24 hours, while the death toll rose by 779 to 35,747, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on its website. The ministry also said it aimed to raise the country’s capacity to 1 million coronavirus tests per day in the medium term, from a record 600,000 on Friday. The federal government this week announced the reopening of yoga institutes and gymnasiums, and removed restrictions on the movement of people and goods.
