Whole Pakistan to become stronghold of PPP: Zardari

SUKKUR: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Friday claimed that the whole country will become the stronghold of his party, ARY  News reported.

Addressing a public meeting in Sukkur, in connection with 51st foundation day of his party, Asif Ali Zardari highlighted the sacrifices rendered by his party, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto for democracy in the country.

The former president said that there was no difference between the vision of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and his assassinated wife Benazir Bhutto. He said that PPP will reclaim the whole country and added that Bhutto remains alive in the heart and mind of every Pakistani who believes in democracy.

On the occasion, Asif Ali Zardari said that anti-Pakistan forces hatching conspiracies to break the country but PPP will not let any conspiracy succeed in its evil designs.

Earlier, Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had said if masses wanted the politics for the rights of labourers and common men then they should support him.

“In sha Allah! I will fight anti-people forces with support of people. We will collectively defeat them,” he said while addressing a public gathering in Sukkur on the ocassion of 51st Foundation Day of Pakistan People’s Party.

India’s coronavirus cases rise by a daily record of 55,078

BENGALURU: India reported another record surge in daily COVID-19 cases on Friday, taking the total to 1.64 million, as the government further eases virus curbs in a bid to resuscitate the economy, while also trying to increase testing. Infections jumped by 55,078 in the past 24 hours, while the death toll rose by 779 to 35,747, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on its website. The ministry also said it aimed to raise the country’s capacity to 1 million coronavirus tests per day in the medium term, from a record 600,000 on Friday. The federal government this week announced the reopening of yoga institutes and gymnasiums, and removed restrictions on the movement of people and goods.
