Pay 70% Of Your Wealth To Us And You Are Free To Go Home. Saudi Officials To The Detained Princes.

The cat is out of the bag. Last week I had written in my article that KSA arresting all these Princes and the businessmen were nothing more than a move to seize their assets in my opinion. And today Financial Times Of London reported that they have been approached by many advisors to the detained people in KSA who confirmed to FT that Prince Mohammad Bin Salman’s office has begun the process of negotiating the deal.
I had also mentioned in my article of last week that the total net worth of all the people arrested exceeded 3 Trillion Riyals and confiscating now, 70% of it solves all Saudi problems for years to come. It takes care of their account deficit of more than $79 billion dollars for this year. It takes care of the depressed oil prices for the two years. It somewhat also takes care of the arms deal recently penned down with America. And most of all it establishes an iron grip on the affairs of KSA by MBS. The aspiring Crown Prince.
I did not have a magic wand when I predicted what it would happen. Rather I have spent so much time with the Saudi Royal family that sometimes I was confused if I was a Pakistani American or a Saudi back in those years. My entire business was based on clients from the GCC and mainly from the KSA and Bahraini Royal families. I spent more time in KSA between 1993 and 1999 then I have spent in any other country in my life. 53 trips in all in 6 years alone. Spending every moment of my trip with the Royals in their palaces in Riyadh or Jeddah. And in summers traveling with them in Europe, particularly the South Of France where they all had second homes. All this time spent with them gave me an innate radar like the ability to guess their moves. To understand their way of thinking. Some of the Saudis are the greatest people I have had the pleasure of spending time with. Some Royals are better than many rich people I have met in my life. But the ones in power then and the ones in power now, are outrightly and only their to save they're thrown at any cost.
Knowing the mindset let me also predict one more thing which probably has never happened before in KSA. King Salman will probably, very soon relinquish his throne and let the Crown Prince be the king. And when I say very soon I mean within months. And why am I predicting this, well no Saudi Royal have I ever met who did not dream of being in power in KSA, being royal does not mean you are in power in KSA, there are more than 7000 members of the Royal family in KSA and only 32 are in power. And MBS will never relinquish this chance of becoming the king earlier than usual. At 32 he will be the longest reigning king KSA has ever seen.
Whatever the events turn out to be, predicting the next move of the royals of KSA is not as difficult as it seems, especially given the environment the world is in and given the lifelong enemy, Iran being in the region and Israel agreeing with KSA when it comes to a plan to eliminate Iran from the political scene.

Accountability court hears assets case against Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court in Islamabad on Wednesday resumed the hearing of a reference filed against former finance minister Ishaq Dar by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for allegedly accumulating assets beyond his known sources of income.  Judge Muhammad Bashir is recording the statement of a prosecution witness, Ishtiaq Ahmed. At the previous hearing, the accountability judge had reserved his verdict on an application filed by two co-accused seeking acquittal in the case. Naeem Mehmood and Mansoor Rizvi, who are directors of Dar’s companies, had filed the application requesting the judge to exonerate them from all charges for want of evidence. Qazi Misbah, the counsel for the two co-accused, contended the prosecution has failed to provide compelling evidence to prove the allegations leveled against his clients. The third co-accused President National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), Saeed Ahmed, had already filed an application before the court for his acquittal wh...

Qatar to hike minimum wage ‘by end of year’

DOHA: Qatar could increase the minimum wage for migrant workers by the end of 2018, unions predicted on Monday, as the 2022 World Cup host seeks to push through labour reforms. It would be the first change to the monthly wage since its introduction by the gas-rich Gulf state last November. “By the end of the year we expect a new minimum wage to be set, that’s good news,” said Sharan Burrow, general secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation. Burrow did not name a figure but said the new wage would be calculated by assessing a “basket of goods”. She was speaking after meeting Qatar’s labour minister, Issa al-Jufali al-Nuaimi, and other government officials in Doha over the past two days. The minimum wage was set at 750 riyals a month ($206, 170 euro) on its introduction. In addition to the salary, labourers receive free accommodation, food and healthcare plans, covered by employers. The 750-riyal figure has been criticised as too low. “We believe it is not good e...
