Mehwish Hayat rejoices return of international cricket in Multan after 12 years

Tamgha-e-Imtiaz recipient and popular actress Mehwish Hayat is elated at the resumption of international cricket in Multan after more than a decade. The actress, who attended the Multan Sultans vs Peshawar Zalmi game of Pakistan Super League’s fifth edition (PSL 5) at Multan Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, took to Twitter and said “Great feeling to be at the glorious Multan stadium last night & see it filled to capacity. Banking court orders to auction Imran Ali’s properties

LAHORE: Banking court has directed to auction properties of PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif’s son-in-law Imran Ali Yousaf, ARY News reported. During the hearing in the banking court no 4, private bank’s lawyer said Imran Ali Yousaf not returning loan of the bank. The counsel said that Ali Imran Yousaf was repeatedly contacted for the return of loan but he didn’t respond. The court, while issuing the advertisement, has ordered to carry out the auction on March 27. The two kanal land to be auctioned for Rs48 mn. Prominent Pakistani actress Ayeza Khan has hit back at trolls criticizing her for choosing to play an infamous character ‘Mehwish’ in hit drama Meray Paas Tum Ho. LHC orders to seal departmental stores, bakeries for using plastic bags

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday directed to seal top departmental stores and bakeries in Punjab province over violating the court orders to abandon the use of plastic bags while it also barred the water companies from using plastic bottles, ARY NEWS reported. The court said that a seven day time to implement the orders could be given to bakeries and stores if they submit an affidavit of implementing the orders within the stipulated time. Heading the proceedings, Justice Shahid Karim said that if the businessmen are least concerned on the matter than they have no right to carry out their activities. I am also issuing notices to the water companies using plastic bottles, he said and added that the world has already shunned the use of plastic bottles and have now adopted glass bottles for the purpose. SOP devised to bring back Pakistanis stranded at Iran border crossing

QUETTA: The Pakistan-Iran border crossing at Taftan on Friday remained close for the sixth consecutive day as immigration and crossings from both sides remained halted amid confirmation of two virus cases in the country, both of whom had travelled to Iran for pilgrimage, ARY NEWS reported. According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan, an emergency has been declared in the provincial areas bordering Iran and screening process of 270 pilgrims who returned to Pakistan was undergoing at Pakistan House in Taftan. “The authorities have already closed down educational institutes in the province till March 15,” they said. The PDMA further said that the authorities have prepared the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to be followed for the pilgrims who will be returning from Iran. “Currently there are hundreds of Pakistanis stranded at the Iran border and we have decided to bring them back in groups of 1000 people after screening process on a daily basis,”...

NAB directed to file Sports Complex reference against Ahsan Iqbal within month

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court on Friday directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file Narowal Sports Complex alleged corruption reference against former interior minister Ahsan Iqbal within a month, ARY News reported. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader appeared before the court for the hearing. Taking the rostrum, Iqbal alleged that he is being penalized for doing good deeds and added that the Sports Complex has been ruined in last 18 months. He demanded to file reference against those who ruined the complex. After marking his attendance, the former minister left for NAB office to appear before it after being summoned in the same reference. The court after directing NAB to file reference against Iqbal within 30 days, adjourned the hearing till March 26. FM Qureshi to represent Pakistan tomorrow at signing of US-Taliban peace treaty

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has confirmed that Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi would represent Pakistan at a signing ceremony of the peace agreement between the United States and Afghan Taliban in Doha on February 29, ARY News reported. In a Tweet on Friday, the SPAM said that that foreign ministers from seven countries, including Emir of Qatar will also attend the ceremony. Representatives from 50 countries will also be present in the ceremony, the SAPM added.
